Over the last few weeks, Josh has had a fairly insane work schedule. On top of regular hours, he's been working on projects at night and on the weekends. Then there are always the normal day to day things, family events and other areas of life that need tending. So yesterday, we snuck in a little time for our selves. We splurged on Iced Teavana's at the mall (The Chocolate Wonderberry is amaaazing), dined at Olive Garden and ended the night with Everybody loves Raymond. They were such little things, but meant so much to me because we shared that time together. And they officially top off my "blessings" list for last week.
We also had the chance to visit with our friends for short time over the weekend. They stayed with us Friday night, which led to the adventures of Rachel & I. We headed out early on Saturday morning to visit a few yard sales. There were rumors in the local paper of a new neighborhood yard sale. Well, let's just say that the "15 family" sale turned out to be a 2 family sale and they barely had enough items to fill one table...and no I am not exaggerating. But, all was not lost! We stumbled on couple of fun finds throughout the day, which included a trip to a local flea market/antique mall. And we both loaded up on fun children books that we found through out the day! Pretty sure that Josh needs to build me a library to house all of my book purchases these days. ;-)
I'm looking forward to this week! We have very few things on the calendar, which means more time at home to relax and just spend more time together. I'm also planning on a color scheme for the kiddie room that we'll be putting together. Now that we've been cleared for respite care, we are hoping everything will move forward with fostering/adopting in the future. Life is changing at rapid speed, so I'm busy trying to soak up every single moment.

That's all we can do is soak up every moment!
Beautiful flower photos.
The days just seem to go by faster and faster! It's fun to get away and have some alone time every now and again, too.

You're not the first to voice what I'm feeling --the general fast pace of life lately! Nice to know we're not alone in the season of busy...also nice to soak up the moments of chill :-)
