Ever have one of those lovely weekends that ends on a sour note? That was mine. I've been wrestling with not sleeping well most nights. Last night was no exception. I suppose age is finally catching up with me. And along with that comes other realities that hurt when you have to accept them. Sometimes we don't choose to do the right thing. Instead, we'd rather do what's popular. Someone always gets hurt.
I'm thankful for another reality. While people may fail me, God doesn't. He's always got my back. When I feel failure or loneliness or insecure...He's there. Listening and waiting to show me the road to forgiveness and healing again. So I'm thankful that He is constant. Still the same. Still on His throne. That makes life a bit sweeter despite the bitter truth of our sinful natures. Yes, sometimes my posts reflect struggles...because that is life. And you know what? I am thankful, because these are the moments that shape me into a better person (at least I hope!).
I'm also thankful for other blessings like pretty pictures of flowers, old bottles with labels (cute, right?) and Pineapple Whips. Who knew Coconut, Pineapple and Banana could taste soooo good? Well it does! I made breakfast in bed for us Saturday and this was our staple. Personally, I thought they were heavenly. If you try it, you'll have to let me know what you think!
Pineapple Whips
2 cups Fresh Pineapple with juice, diced
1 frozen banana, diced (be sure to peel the banana before you freeze it!)
1/2 cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup Coconut Milk
1/2 cup crushed ice
Blend frozen banana & coconut milk until smooth.
Add other ingredients and blend for 30-60 seconds.
Serve right away!

The frothy pineapple drink looks yummy! :)
I'm so sorry your weekend ended on a sour note. But I'm glad that you take the view that even when you make mistakes or when you have to hurt due to other people's sin natures, you can grow from the experience! I agree, although I know it is often a difficult thing, change and growth.
Hope you're having a lovely day!
that drink looks great! I'm going to try it!
I'm always disappointed when people do the popular thing instead of the right thing, though it definitely gives me a better perspective of who someone is as a person...
Praying for you, friend!
And I'm definitely going to have to try that pineapple whip recipe. That looks and sounds so refreshing!
Thanks for the reminder that God never leaves nor forsakes us... I needed it today.

How sweet that our God loves us even though we are so flawed and broken.
I am sorry that you are not sleeping, you are much too young to be dealing with that. Hope sweet rest returns soon.
