♥♥♥♥♥x's 100000
By far my favorite series of all time. I realize this puts me into one of those "YA screaming fiction girls". But, it's the truth. One girls steps up to save her sister. One boy loves her more than life itself. Together, they defy the government to prove they are not pawns. My favorite character besides Katniss and Peeta?

Closely following the Hunger Games is the Lois Lowry trilogy. This story follows three different characters individually, eventually crossing paths throughout the story. Set in a futuristic society where emotions are stamped out in hopes of controlling the human race. A tragic tale of of forgiveness, hope and overcoming evil by taking a leap of faith.

♥♥♥♥♥ x's 10!
The tale of two sisters, a tragic betrayal and a love story that with stands the test of time. Read this book for the second time and loved it even more. I just wish the movie gave it justice! Beautiful, excellent writing from the beloved Austen.

♥♥♥♥♥
When "The Help" was recommended to me by one of my dearest friends, Rachel, I knew I had to give it shot. Honestly, this book was heartbreaking. I felt angry, hurt, bitter, scared and about 100 other emotions. I. Could. Not. Put. It. Down. Note: There is quite a bit of language and a "scene" that I had to skim over just because I couldn't handle it. Not recommended for younger readers.

♥♥♥♥
Ahhh, how I adored this book! Read it last year and found myself busting a gut in fits of laughter in the middle of Starbucks. And people stared. But, it's still my fav little young kiddo book. =) Suitable for just about any age!

♥♥♥
Oh the horrors! I read those books! Terrible, right? Whatever. I kinda got annoyed with people bashing the books when they didn't even bother to read the back of the cover. It's classic teen romance, super sappy, slightly annoying, but fun to read. I may also get a kick out of reading literature that most people consider non-touchable. What I don't get is why people freaked out about someone falling in love with a vampire. Yet, we hail movies where the main character falls in love with super heros, villains, half man/half animal and consider those acceptable. I'm pretty sure that's a double standard. But, with all that said, they aren't my favorite. Notes: TMI situations in the book and some "violence" to be aware of.

♥♥♥♥
Picoult is an amazing writer. The different characters throughout this book pulls you into the story until you feel every bitter thought, heartbreak, triumph and more. By the end of the book, I was so angry at the mother I wanted to punch her in the face. What a selfish pig! I still get mad just thinking about it. Amazing, heart wrenching read that will stick with you for weeks and months afterwards. Notes: Some language, a few incidents that wouldn't be suitable for younger readers.

♥♥♥♥♥ x's 10
For as long as I can remember, I loved reading about WWII. Not that I loved what happened, but that there were survivors. There were those who fought back. Those that found resources and the will to stay alive. These kind of stories touch my heart and inspire me to stand strong in my own daily grind. Even when I've got it so much better. Number The Stars is set in WWII era and follows a young girls story of survival during the terror of those days. A haunting, triumphant tale suitable for most ages. Loved it.

♥♥♥♥♥
If you were faced with losing your family, your home, even your life-- all because of your faith, would you still stand strong? This is a story of faith, trust and giving your all to God in the face of persecution. A haunting, endearing tale of two vastly different men living in a vastly different world.

♥♥♥

I found a copy of this at a recent book fair for $1 and it was brand  new. SUCH A GOOD BOOK. Follows the story of a young girl who is watching a recent tragedy unfold...and she's involved. The only bone I had with this book is there were a few un-lady like phrases that I could have done without. Otherwise a really great read.

♥♥♥♥♥ x's 100000000

Do I have to explain myself with this one? Amazing. Brings me to tears every single time.

 ♥♥♥♥♥ x'10000!

I grew up reading, watching and loving all things related to the Anne girl. I loved her whimsical personality, her love for Gil (as much as she tried to deny it) and of course the gentlemanly kindness that was bestowed on Anne through Gil. A true blue love story without too much fan fare or frills. Still favorites after all these years.

♥♥♥♥♥ x's 100000000!

Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy. Is there anything quite so lovely as this old fashioned love story? I think not.

♥♥♥♥

When I first picked up these books, I was a bit afraid to read them. For starters, I'm all about the futuristic/utopian era books. However, when you read books like Hunger Games, it's hard to fall in love with another series. So yes, I liked matched. BUT. When I read Crossed...oh wow. It was good! Really, good! Can't wait for the third book release coming out in November!

♥♥♥♥♥

I love the rebellious spirit of each character. Sometimes, rebellion is necessary. Espeically when it involves a government trying to snuff out a particular race or group of people. I read this in the car and finished it in two sittings.

♥♥♥♥♥

I read David Copperfield one summer in high school. It took about 4 weeks to plow through the hearty book. It wasn't a fairy tale or filled with happy endings. But, as I read each page, I was sure that David Copperfield was somehow my friend. The kinship born out of reading through the trials, tribulations and triumph of David has lasted all these years.

I love all of Emily Giffins' books. They are the perfect summer beach read with the romance and friendship. Her new book Where We Belong is being release this week. I am super excited for that. She really knows how to make you feel like you are in the story.

How fun! I want to check out a few of those, especially the Lois Lowry series, those sounds good. I've been reading a lot of biographies right now, specifically about women who have converted to Christianity in Islamic countries. Lots of insight. Reading the Princess trilogy by Jean Sasson right now. Also really loved the Daughters of China series (fiction based on true events - about the persecuted church in China). I follow your blog, of course. :)

^LeAnna, regarding women who convert to Christianity from Islamic Countries...have you read "I Dared To Call Him Father"? It's a great read!

My favorite book EVER is: 'A Wrinkle In Time' by Madeleine L'Engle

For those who don't know about this awesome book here is a little snippet ganked from GoodReads about the novel:

It was a dark and stormy night; Meg Murry, her small brother Charles Wallace, and her mother had come down to the kitchen for a midnight snack when they were upset by the arrival of a most disturbing stranger.

"Wild nights are my glory," the unearthly stranger told them. "I just got caught in a downdraft and blown off course. Let me be on my way. Speaking of way, by the way, there is such a thing as a tesseract".

A tesseract (in case the reader doesn't know) is a wrinkle in time. To tell more would rob the reader of the enjoyment of Miss L'Engle's unusual book.

///

I loooove all of Lois Lowry's books too! And The Hunger Games? Why yes, I love them too...though I am having a hard time reading through the last book, only because I don't want it to end.

This is hard... reading is one of the great loves of my life! It's why I chose to become a high school English teacher--I want to instill my love of literature in my students! That being said, I don't know if I have a favourite book, as there are so many that I love. I have read The Thorn Birds at least a dozen times, Gone with the Wind is another great love, but I recently read another book that easily made its way into my list of book loves: The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. It is a wonderful story about a great family secret that weaves through the generations, and it keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. It's the kind of book that feels like a good friend--you miss it once it's finished!

Oh, it's too hard to pick just one favourite book, but if I had to, it would probably be Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. The story is so interesting it's hard to put the book down.

This is what it's about:
Set against the dramatic backdrop of the American Civil War, Margaret Mitchell's epic love story is an unforgettable tale of love and loss, of a nation mortally divided and its people forever changed. At the heart of all this chaos is the story of beautiful, ruthless Scarlett 'O' Hara and the dashing soldier of fortune, Rhett Butler.

There's as much, if not more, controversy about HP books as with Twilight saga, but in most cases people who are against them either haven't read them at all, or they just don't know that there are much scarier/sorcery-related books around than the HP series.

Recently I have read The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini. I never thought I would enjoy those types of books, about another country with a culture so different from mine. They pulled me right in. Not only were they great stories that make you angry at times and sad, but it's told so well. I also love that I am learning about another culture as well. I favor A Thousand Splendid Suns over the two, but they are both so great!

My favorite book of all time - Pride and Prejudice. Jane Austen is actually my favorite author, and I've read all of her books. They are all really enjoyable, and feature a strong, witty, and clever heroine that we all see in ourselves at some point in our lives (hopefully! :) ) But Pride and Prejudice takes the cake. In my opinion, it's one of the best love stories of all time - and I love the period it was set in as well.

Another author I've been reading lately is Phillipa Gregory, and her books about the English Monarch Tudor dynasty. Just the stories of the Tudors are interesting, but she makes the facts come to life in historical fiction books, and does a great job of it.

Much better than most "historical" novels, it provided a compelling blow-by-blow account of her life story and the French Revolution. It was fast-paced, thoughtful, poignant, and fair--the end had a great little recap of the history and was transparent with areas that were fiddled with. All-in-all, a good summer read!

I love so many books but the hunger games series is really high on my list. I think what draws me to it is the strong female character and the fact that she doesn't need anyone to save her, she saves herself.

Our tastes in books are so similar! I love the Hunger Games trilogy. Love The Giver books! Love Divergent and Insurgent. Love Crossed and Matched. I can't wait until their sequels come out. Anne of Green Gables is one of my all time faves. I loved The Penderwicks. I need to read the sequel. I could go on and on! Books are my life :) It's my dream to own a bookstore on the beach and have a bunch of cats in it.

following on GFC. I loved The Hunger Games because it was so inspiring to have an independent strong female character as the heart of the book.

My favorite book is Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Any book in the series is brilliant. The Christian tones and the theme of love throughout makes this a must read!

My favorite review was the one of the Hunger Games trilogy. One because, I have already read the Twilight series so I already know how awesome it is :) and two because I've been wanting to read the Hunger Games but haven't had the chance to yet. I've seen the movie though so the books will be quite interesting I'm sure :)

Wow, I always seem to have a book in my hand, so it's hard to pick one favorite. I like to read several different genres, depending on my mood/how I feel that day. I love Sandra Brown...her older series like "Texas Lucky," "Texas Chase," & "Texas Sage." These were the best love stories! I like James Patterson and his thrillers: "Kiss the Girls," "Tick Tock," etc. I also love Roald Dahl's, "The BFG," which I read to my fourth graders every year. It's a great story and still makes me laugh. I guess I just like a great story, no matter the author or genre. :-)
