A few months ago, I heard the story of a little one that was in foster care. It broke my heart and I spent a while trying to get myself together. When I shared with Josh that I felt a tug towards the idea of foster and adoption care, He was very understanding and supportive.
As we began exploring options, we both felt we needed to submit paperwork and see where to go from there. Then we learned about a Christian organization that provides support & training for adoption/foster care. Needless to say, it's now been over fourth months and we are still a long way from completing the journey.
We still have lots to go through before we can get approved, but I will say this...after finishing the first leg of training this weekend my heart is just broken for these children. I think my outlook on life is changing and regardless of how HE chooses to use us through this journey... I know we are heading in the right direction.
If you think of us, please say a prayer! That we would keep our eyes focused on His will for our life. And to those of you who left words of encouragement and prayers on the last post...thank you so much! It means so much to me. And yes, moving is now in question since we were approved for the training process....but He knows.
Today, I'm just thankful for a powerful Savior, a loving husband with a big heart and so many wonderful people working together to achieve a common goal. <3

If you'd like to connect to a wonderful mommy that has 3 biological children, has adopted 3 more (she is actually in China right now where they finally got to hold their 3rd. baby!!) her name is Sheri and she is a wonderful, encouraging, Godly woman... I recommend you visit her blog: http://dswalling.blogspot.com/ ... the name is Table for Seven but I am sure the name is about to change ;) ....
We've been thinking about this too! The first year it won't be possible, but after that we'll look into everything again in detail :)
Keep us updated!
So great! I have a heart for adoption myself. Praying that you have wisdom and direction as you move through the process. Congrats!

You forgot to add you have a BIG heart as well! It doesn't suprise me one bit that you would adopt/foster care. You are such a sweet, loving amazing person and so seems your hubs and I think any child would be lucky to call you mommmy! I am so proud of you, and of course I will pray for you through this whole journey! I've got your back girl! So does GOD!

Sums
What a journey, indeed! Praying for you both as you embark on this possible new chapter in your lives :-) While I don't know you personally, I can tell from reading your posts over the years that you're a wonderful person with a great big heart - it'll be tough, but we can do anything when we work with God!
I agree--God calls us to care for the orphans! Seth and I have explored adoption and foster care in the past, and it is a huge step! :) Blessings to you both!

My husband and I just finished doing Foster Care.
It is incredibly sad what these kids have seen/go through at such a young age.
Only Jesus can heal them, but I am happy to be His vessel! BLESS YOU and your hubby for taking this step!
