A Visit To Lake Willastein

We had a splendid, relaxing, weekend. On Saturday Josh went on a "dude's only" hike to a local mountain range, while I stayed home to indulge in my nerdy side. I finished reading "Girl With A Dragon Tattoo", which by the way was probably one of the most tragic books I've ever read. I immediately needed to "wash" my brain with something more calming.

On Sunday we woke up late and decided to spend a quiet day out together. Originally, we'd planned a road trip, but the weather wasn't cooperating (read: storms from the west!). Instead we visited a nearby community that boasts a beautiful lake smack dab in the center of town. It was a quiet, beautiful place to walk, talk and just spend time together. It was perfect. And I'm so thankful he's willing to take out time to focus on "us".

We also made our way to a local book store, where I loaded up on a couple of new titles. One of which was "Matched" by Alli Condi. Many have compared this book to The Hunger Games. Honestly, I can't imagine anything coming close to the "amazingness" of The HG series. They are, and probably will be my favorites 'till I die! But, I'm gonna give this other series a try. So, we'll see. ;-) Anyone else read it? Thoughts?

The night ended with dinner & dessert at Nathan's...and OH MY WORD. The Ice Cream was amazing. I only plowed through 1/4 of the blast. My Choice?Jamaican Me Crazy Blast with Oreos. Think Almond Joys + Oreo + Chocolate Overload. Good stuff.

How was your weekend? Happy Tuesday!

I just read Matched! It was really really good. It's definitely not Hunger Game status because like you I was completely obsessed with those books but it's still very good and I'm looking forward to the second book in the series.

^Awe, thank you Glenda!

I read matched a while ago - I really liked it, but seriously, why can't all books end with the main character married and happy jumping into a pit of puppies?

I haven't been able to gear myself up yet to read the sequel, Crossed!

Sounds like the perfect weekend!

I spent Friday at church working on the youth room renovation. Saturday, a bunch of us from church went to a Spanish restaurant nearby and pigged out on yummy food. (I splurged and had a Cafe Con Leche, loaded with caffeine, yum!) And then Sunday was church. I guess it was a churchy kind of weekend, lol!

I really like your new header!

I've been interested in the Girl..tattoo book but not up for a really dark book, maybe I'll wait to be in a 'mood' to read that. haha

Thanks for stopping by today! :)
