Not Who I Was

Hey there, little guy...

Well the thing I find most amazing
In amazing grace
Is the chance to give it out
Maybe that's what love is all about

I wish you could see me now
I wish I could show you how
I'm not who I was

-brandon heath

"Would you go back and change anything?" he questioned, before we drifted off to sleep. Something I pondered, only moments. Perhaps. Sometimes, I wish I could erase bad mistakes and poor choices. But, then again, no. Those things in life that brought pain, shaped me into the person I am today. My choice in life took me on a journey that crossed paths with him.

"No, I wouldn't change anything".

But, now, I can take those lessons learned and apply them to my daily life. I can make a difference. I'd like to tell my people from years gone by how much they really meant to me. If I could let loved ones know that I didn't take them for granted--I just never knew how to put it into words...I would.

But for now? I'll just sing this song. And hope that in their hearts, they know, too. 'Cuase I'm not who I was then, I'm somebody different. Changed.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." -- 2 Corinthians 5:17

Awesome post! Brandon Heath does have the best lyrics. I agree with you--the bad stuff is what shapes us into who we are today.

Love Brandon Heath, as you know! Great music. Loved your photo, too!

I am not who I once was, either.....I like to think for the better. I like to think that I'm being renewed and changed by my choice and by God every single day! :) God bless you!

It is good that it is worth it because some mistakes are so painful...even if they do shape us!!!

I don't also think I'll change anything given the chance. Mistakes are there to teach us lessons and to make us better individuals.

Nope, no way. Everything has been perfectly woven together, and I wouldn't trade this life for anything...mistakes, awful moments and all. Love this post :-)
