Random Craziness!! {{and lovely things}}

Where has the time gone?
Am I the only one who can't believe it is already APRIL? It will be Christmas before we know it. Ha! I really hope we get a longer spring this year...last year we practically jumped from freezing cold, to boiling hot....oh the south. ;-)

Workout suggestions?
Anyone want to recommend a few work out videos to me? I've been usuing a combo of Taebo, Kickboxing, Yoga, Pilates, and Dance Workouts. My body seems to ignore anything that I do on a regular basis, so I need to change it up a bit more. Not sure what to get though...

Hit The Road Jack!
This weekend we took TWO different road trips. The first was a two hour drive to visit our friends up north. We played games, drank White Russians (yummy!), us girls went out for some garage sales. I found some fun looking books, and a few other great items. Then our second trip was a day out to visit a local gardens. We barely made it in time to see all the beautiful tulips..which are my favorite. I'm still behind on photo editing. Which means...I gotta get going!

Finding Joy.
I think I'm learning to just love life, and find joy in everything around me. Last night I was counting up my blessings again: a roof over my head, a wonderful husband that loves me, and the beautiful spring sunshine. Every day He chooses to remind me once again how fragile life is, and how every single day is a gift. It's a reoccurring lesson that I seem to be chew on day in, day out. There is joy all around me. I just have to take the time to find it.

  1. Hey Heather! Do ya'll have netflix? If not, I'm sure Amazon or Gaiam sells them as well as the Shapestore (Shape Magazine). I found on Netflix- several cardio pilates videos, and recently found some SHAPE magazine ones that cover all parts (one for legs, one for your glutes, and another total body) all the SHAPE ones include a bit of cardio with the workout- pretty fun too!
And I totally agree with you on the April comment!! Can't believe how fast this year seems to be going!

  2. I love running and biking so I don't tend to stick to regimented workout videos. However, I have heard bad reviews of Jazzercising just an fyi. :] What are the books entitled? I cannot believe it is already April already either.

  5. I for one, cannot believe it's April already! Every year goes by faster than the one before it, ahhh!
Road trips are the best! Hubby and I were joking the other day that we get more uninterrupted conversation time while driving places than any other time. I suppose it's true, and that must be why we love it so much!

  6. I can't believe it's April! This year is seriously flying by. It's crazy. I have to mix my work outs up too but my husband and I started Insanity and we're doing that for 60 days. Which is how long it lasts, but we do a different workout every day!

  7. I'm SO excited it's finally April, and that it's finally starting to feel like spring here in MN, it was such a long winter!!!

I can't wait to see you at the end of May when Jesse and I come visit for a week. You have to come to my shower at the church, it will be so much fun!

  9. I think when your body comes to a standstill, it's time to amp up the cardio and cut out the sugar and carbs. I've heard that 80% of weight loss is what you eat. After my daughter was done nursing, I cut out all refined carbs: pasta, rice, flour, etc, and all sugars except honey and did that for 2 weeks, only eating whole grains, LOTS of veggies and fruit, a good amount of healthy protein. It was the hardest thing EVER but in 2 weeks, I had lost a very stubborn 10 pounds! Good luck!

  10. April? No way!! At least that's what I said. ;) I am enjoying the more gradual springtime this year. It's all new to me, and I love the flowering trees. I probably sound like a broken record, but I cannot get over how beautiful they are and how blessed I am to have lived where they grow out in the wild! Amazing to this Alaskan girl. ;)

  14. I use the firm workout video's to workout from home when I don't go to the gym. I have used it off/on again for several years and with little ones it has really been helpful to have when I have the time to get to it (usually during naptime!)

  17. As you know I did The Shred. But, I'm doing Turbo Fire from Beach Body. The cardio is kicking my butt! Let me know what you decide to do!!! Yay for taking care of yourself though.

  18. I highly recommend P90X by Beachbody. It can be costly upfront, but it is a workout that your body will never get use to which means you wont have to constantly buy new workouts due to a plataeu {not sure how thats spelt}. The great thing about p90x is that there are many cds so you're bound to like at least one of them. Word of advice: you have to be extremely dedicated. Put everything into it. Its so easy to miss a day and start making excuses.
