A few weeks ago, hubby called me mid morning at work. He sounded so tired, that I could feel his eyes drooping through the phone. So I decided to what every good wife wants to do-surprise him! I got ready in a record breaking time, drove to the closets coffee shop near his office, and ordered his favorite coffee drink & pastry. Then I called him, and told him to walk outside, where I delivered the coffee, a quick kiss, and had to head write back to my next appointment. That was what I like to call, a surprise mini date. I think the best part was still feeling the butterflies when I delivered the coffee...it's a never ending love story for us.
Another time, I was at work when I heard the doorbell ring. I opened the door just in time for my husband to give me a kiss, then wave to me as he jumped in his car & drove off to head back to his office. There on the doorsteps were beautiful flowers, sushi, and a giant chocolate bar. It was a wonderful surprise, and one that I never expected.
That all said, I can honestly say I love surprises, especially surprise mini dates. Do you?

What a sweet surprise! I did that a couple weeks ago with dinner at Chick-fil-A! And yes, I'm talking about Orange Leaf fro-yo...so good!
You both are so sweet to one another. I love hearing how couples constantly think of one another even when your day is hectic. A mini-date is perfect, sweet, and unforgetable. I must admit though, when you said a surprise, I was thinking about another kind .. that involves a stroller and a sippie cup. I must have baby fever bad if I'm secretly wishing them among other couples too ;)

I like to take my fiance dinner when he's working late. I'll go home cook it quick and wrap it up nicely for him. Sometimes I'll park and eat it there with him :) He's dropped off breakfast to me at work, and surprised me with flowers just because and it means so much! It's the little things like that which mean the most :)

My most current blog post is about a very sweet surprise for my son, Connor. I was able to get the lead singer of Sick Puppies to pose in a photo with him yesterday! (Sick Puppies started the Free Hugs campaign...) It was the best moment of my life to see the look of surprise on my son's face!

Yes, yes, yes! Short dates are fun, too! And surprises even better! When J and I were dating, he came down with a really nasty cold bug. Well, I couldn't get near him and risk getting sick because I was still taking full time courses at college and they were TOUGH....so I decided to make him a care package with a cute card, a little stuffed dog that held a heart saying I LOVE YOU, a vitamin water to help him get well, and a BIG Reeses cup for when he recovered and wanted his fave -- peanut butter and chocolate!
It was a hit, needless to say! LOL
You seriously brought tears to my eyes... that was absolutely precious! One time my hubby knew I had a bad day so he brought home flowers, pizza, and a super funky necklace for me to wear to work the next day. Talk about a pick-me-up!
That is SO sweet! Oh my goodness! I am so ashamed of myself -- I need to do the little things like this more often for my hubby. Thanks for the reminder :)
