A while back I had mentioned that I was reading the book "Savannah from Savannah". Well, throughout the book was details about historic landmarks. When I read about "The Olde Pink House", I wondered if there really was such a thing. While we were hunting down Paula Dean's Restaurant, we stumbled on it. So I was very excited when hubby said we could have our anniversary dinner there. When we got there they said it would be over an hour wait, but they ended up getting us in less than 20 minutes!!
Josh had Fillet Mignon, while I had a pecan crusted chicken with blueberry sauce, sweet potato with a vanilla pecan sauce. Amazingness. :)
Here is a picture of lady & sons...a lot of people have commented that it doesn't look anything they would have imagined. What do you think?
And yall asked for this recipe...which is pure torture at the moment since I can't have sugar. ;-)
White Chocolate Banana Cream Pie
1 Package Banana Cream Pudding (cook according to pie directions)
2 Medium bananas, thinly sliced
4 oz. of Ghiradelli White Chocolate Bar
1 tsp. Vanilla
1 tub cool whip
1 tbsp. slivered almonds
Cook pudding according to "PIE" direction on the back of package. Chop chocolate bar into mini pieces, and add to the cooking mixture. Blend until smooth. Add vanilla, and let cool. While the pie is cooling you can make a baked pie shell or graham cracker crust of your choice. After the filling as cooled mix in sliced bananas, and 1 cup of cool whip until fluffy. Spoon into crust, and top with left over cool whip. Garnish with bananas, almonds, and white chocolate chips. Enjoy!

How fun!!! And your anniversary meal sounds delish!!! And that pie is pure amazingness!! :)
oh man ... I am SUCH a foodie! My mom and sister and I all went on vacation to Hilton Head/Savannah a little over a year ago - the food was HEAVEN. I have pictures of Lady and Sons but we never ate there because we didn't want to wait all day... Maybe someday!
One of my favorite cities EVER! The food is amazing there! Our favorite restaurant that we found there was "The Mansion on Forsythe Park". We loved it so much we thought about getting married there but alas it did not work out! What a phenomenal place to spend your anniversary! Great choice!
MMmmmmmm! that banana cream pie looks delicious!
Our meal at The Olde Pink House had to be one of my very favorites on my last trip to Savannah - ooohhh... those crab beginets, fried greed tomato napoleons, the list is endless, ha! Oh, and that whole apricot glazed fish (flounder, I think) was beyond words :-)
I haven't been to The Lady & Sons yet. While I love me some Paula Dean, I've heard the restaurant, food, ambiance, etc. just isn't all it's cracked up to be - at least for this Cajun/Southern gal :-)
And I totally agree with Mrs.Wedding Crasher - the Mansion on Forsyth is also phenomenal! My bff is getting married there in December & I can't wait to stay there :-)
I am definitely a foodies, and that pie looks amazing, and I'm not even a white chocolate fan! I'll bet it would taste great in this pie though!
I want to go eat in Savannah too. I {heart} Paula Deen. I am new to any kind of cooking and have been experimenting...mostly with my crock pot and a Gooseberry Patch recipe book. I need to get one of Paula's books. That pie sounds yummy! Pop over to my world and say hi!
The recipe looks divine! I know I'll be trying it out this weekend when my parents come to visit. Thanks!
