Tanning:: I have to admit, I started going to tanning beds again. I don't go very often, but enough to give a bit of a glow. I really, really, can't stand being pasty white. So, with our upcoming travels, I've been super worried about getting a nice tan. I've tried many a self tanner, and always end up getting streaks. Until, I tried this. Oh, dear natural GLOW where have you been all my life? What do you guys use for tanning? Are there are amazing gems out there I've never used?
Reading:: A while back, I was asked to review this book. As an avid reader, I was very excited when the package arrived in the mail containing A Passion Most Pure by Julie Lessman. Honestly, it was a wonderful, time well spent read. If you loved "Redeeming Love" By Francine Rivers, you will love this too. It packs a powerful story line of forgiveness, and redemption. It was the kind of book that will leave you thinking for days after you turn the last page. Not to mention... you will fall in love with Faith, and the O'Connor family as you share in their joys and tribulations. So a major thank you to Julie for sending me the book, and giving me the privilege to review it!

Loving:: I needed a new tote for traveling with this summer...one that will hold books, sun tan lotions, and the like. So I was super excited when I landed this Vera bag, pink cupcake, at 50% off. I was all smiles walking out the door...
In other news, I've been receiving a few comments of people asking for my e-mail address...I'm afraid that I might forget or miss other people requesting the same, so I put my e-mail address back on the right side of the bar. Feel free to contact me for questions, concerns, or even if you just feel like sending me chocolate. Ha! ;-)

I'm trying to stay away from the tanning beds too but it's hard! I like the Jergens self tanner but haven't tried the foam.
I haven't tried the foam but will do - thanks! I really like bare escentuals Faux Tan as well!
Can you believe our anniversaries are coming up in less than 2 weeks?! Where did the time go?
Loved Redeeming Love, thanks for the book suggestion! And that tote is too cute!
I'm loving this weather in Florida :) It's been between the 70's and 80's for a few weeks now and I am soooo happy!
Also, I love Nora Robert's Bridal Quartet series and I'm currently reading the Time Traveler's Wife!
what a fun list! i need to try that self-tanner ASAP!
Cupcakes Pink is my FAVORITE print!
I'm totally at Barnes & Noble right now and I'm going to check on that book!
That book sounds amazing, especially since you brought up Francine Rivers, I love that author! I need to use some fake tanning stuff when I am in Maui, I am so white too! :) That or go to the beach to get a tan. Have a great week girl!
Super cute post! Loved it!
Have a great day!

I got an airbrush tan for the wedding and it turned out really nice, very natural looking. I need a fun tote like that for summer too!
Ohhh I feel you on the tanning. I don't want to go to the tanning beds but I feel so much better with a tan. Definitely a fan of Natural Glow!
Have a good week! xoxo
I needed a good self tanner recommendation. I have been so tempted to go to a tanning bed so I'll definately have to try this out. I am completely loving Sonia Kashuk make up at target, especailly the lip gloss.
Ooooh I need to try this new Jergens thing. I used to have the classic one but I've never tried the foam. Too bad they don't sell it in France..
Redeeming LOve is one of my favorite books, so I'll have to keep an eye out for this one.
I stay as far away from tanning beds as I can. I used to tan in high school and college and I had a little scary spot on my back last summer. It turned out to be a little cyst, but it was scary just the same. I'm trying to be content with being vampire pale b/c tanning sprays make me orange and I don't want to look like my great-aunt Vera when I am old. ;)
I just found your blog and love it! All of your pictures are fantastic. Love the new tote. That pattern is perfect for Spring :)
I use self tanner too, I'm already naturally tan but I like a little more. There's this great l'oreal one it comes in an orangish tube. I've recently started a love for vera bradley too, it's all so cute.
oooooo gonna try that self tanner! I know exactly how you feel though because I hate tanning beds but I hate being pastey too!
I'm adding books to my cart at Amazon all the time. Adored Redeeming Love, I'll have to check this book out as well.
Sounds like a great book! Thanks for the suggestion!
Mrs. Southern Bride ... thank you SO much for your kind review of A Passion Most Pure -- it blesses the socks off of me!
And I gotta tell you, I LOVE your website ... the look, the music and the fact that your Joshua looks so Jane Austin era, like Mr. Darcy, only more dark and mysterious!
I will definitely be back!!
Hugs,
Julie
Thanks for the tanning recommendation! I have tried nearly everything under the sun and enjoy Bare Escentuals "Faux Tan." On the pricier side, but the scent is nice, color is good, and it lasts a couple days, and is best for an event. Drawbacks are you need to wear gloves or prepare to wash your hands about 15 times to get the brown stain off!
I love Natural Glow, too! I finally feel like my tanning problems have been fixed!
I absolutely LOVE that painting on the cover of the book!
My current love is photographing all the lovely spring scenes...every day brings about a new and exciting picture.
Thanks for sharing! I sure wish I could read...but I get darn sucked into reading blogs! I guess that is reading right?
My current love is fun spring colored earings and necklaces!
i can't stand all the streakies from self tanner. but, in the interest of my health my hubby has lovingly banned me from the tanning beds. i know i'll thank him for it later... or at least that's what he tells me. ha ha. redeeming love is a fantastic read!
i'll so be trying the natural glow.. it sounds great..
I enjoyed reading your blog. I found you via Linda @ My Trendy Tykes. Can't wait to see what you post in the future.
Foams NEVER work for me, they always streak! I have two fine mist airbrush tanning sprays that I use that I love! Neutrogena's Airbrush spray tan, and Banana Boat's airbrush spray tan - both work REALLY well and Banana Boat is a few dollars cheaper then Neutrogena's. I would highly recommend them both! Much easier than a foam or a lotion!
I was looking for a good self tanner. thanks girl!
I am all about keeping skin safe from sunburn.
Hope you are having a wonderful week!
<3
Natural Glow is the only thing that doesn't streak on me! Love it!
I will have to check out that book.... Loved Redeeming Love!! :)
I love those Vera Bradley totes! What a great bag for traveling! They have the glow for the face as well but it is not a foam but it is so slight it does not streak. I am horrible at the self tanners myself.
I love natural glow, but not beds. I have not yet tried the foam, I like the lotion, but I may give it a go.
I also LOVE Neutrogena's self tanning sunscreen for the face. It is SFP 30 and made with helioplex, which doesn't break down. Geez, I am like a commercial. I need to blog about it I guess. I am pretty afraid of skin cancer, so I am a big consumer of sunscreens and tanners.
Adorable Vera bag! Her stuff is so spendy I could never justify the price...but 50% off -- rock on!
okay so since you admitted it, i will too! I have started tanning again too! But I do not go near as much as I used too! I used to go a few times a week! It's hard to stop. It makes me feel so much better to have some color!
I love that glow lotion and stuff though!!
I used to LOVE tanning beds, but I'm whiter than you so I know it's terrible for my skin!
I used Jergens natural glow lotion and I liked the results but HATED the smell! It clung to me and everything I wore!
Does the foam smell as much?
I love love love Jergen's Natural Glow. I use the lotion but that picture looks like a foam, which I've never seen before. Is that what you use...?
