Passport, please!

When we left for our honeymoon, I was super excited to get yet another stamp in my passport. Only, I had forgotten that I have to get a new one, since my name change. Yup, all that hard work to get my passport filled now reverts back to one empty passport. Until June that is...

We found out that in celebration of my dad's upcoming birthday, our entire family is heading off on a cruise to Alaska, with a side trip to Canada!!!! Can someone say stoked and BLESSED???

This will be my first cruise, and first time to either place...so I'm curious...what is the weather like there in the summer? Have any of you been on a cruise??

I can't help but think of all the amazing photo opportunities...which has me drooling over a new lens to take with me like this one...

And speaking of photos, I have my Flickr up and running...put together a 365 project. My goal is to take at least one picture a day to upload. I'm totally kicking myself to get it together a practice photography every day...anyone else on Flickr??

So exciting. My parents, sister and BIL did an Alaskan cruise a few years ago and my hubby's aunts went last year. They all loved it. Where in Canada will you be visiting? I'm assuming BC if you are going on your way to Alaska or on your way back.

Ahh!! You'll have so much fun! I've been on once cruise with my in-laws on what we called the Saints and Sinners cruise through all the former pirate hangouts of the Eastern Caribbean. Which line are you all going on?

My grandmother went to Alaska on a Princess cruise line in the mid 1990s, but that's the only experience I have. It's beautiful, and make sure to take warm clothes!

I went a cruise a few years ago with my family. It was definately one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever been on. I spent most of my time reading by the pool or on a beach or snorkling. So nice. Plus you get to dress up for dinner everynight which is very fun!

YAY!! :) Good for you - I can't wait to hear about your CRUISE experience!

Sounds like fun! As for Alaskan weather- I'd plan on bringing a variety of options since in my experience it can get cold pretty quickly. You'll probably want at least a light sweater or sweatshirt with you at all times, especially since you'll be on the coast. It shouldn't get very warm. I think the highest it normally gets is in the low eighties. But I think even that is an extreme. Do you know which parts you'll get to see? My uncle lives in Sitka and it is BEAUTIFUL there.

Ugh I SO know how you feel. I had two stamps in my passport (I know, that's not many, but still), and now I have to get a new one for our Honeymoon this summer!

This Louisiana ga saw your blog title on a list of blogs followed (by a followers) and had to stop by. Really enjoyed your blog and am happy you're so blissfully happy. I still turn meals into an event -- drum roll for Southern belles! And loved your pics. Thanks for sharing.

Honestly, cruising is one of my favorite ways to vacation. It's so relaxing!

Yay for new adventures! Getting excited about upcoming trips is sometimes half the fun! Ps. If you ever run into that passport problem again, just "lose" your passport before its time to renew, and get a new one. Just sayin'.

I am so horribly jealous! I've always wanted to go to Alaska, and I've heard that it is absolutely gorgeous. You should check out a blog called "At The Porch Swing" written by a girl who lives in Alaska. She might be able to give you some tips :-)

You are going to enjoy Alaska and Canada so much, it is positively beautiful there and hopefully when you go it won't be too cold. Cruises are so much fun and I was scared about getting sea sick but I didn't which is good. I hope you are able to take some fabulous photos! :)

The trip sounds great! I've never been on a cruise, but I do know people who went on one to Alaska and they absolutely LOVED it!

Great job on the workout! Keep it up!

Hubby and I went on a cruise a couple of years ago, we went on a Canadian/New England cruise - it was a little cold, but it was fun. I did get really sea sick though, and didn't bring the right pills to combat it with, so that part was really frustrating. Next time we go on one though, I'm going to be prepared. Oh and I think the room we stayed in was really old and kind of musty, I got a really bad cold halfway during the week which was NOT fun, it almost turned into a sinus infection. So bring immune blasters and cold stuff just so you're prepared!

My mother in law used to live in Alaska and she says its the one of the most beautiful places she has ever been! And she has lived and been everywhere from Europe to Africa to little ol Washington State. I have seen pictures and I am dying to go up there.

Are y'all going to get to go to Vancouver?

I definitely added that to my "places to travel" list.

I love, love, love cruises. I've been on 2 and it is my absolute favorite way to vacation!

My coworker went on a 3 week Alaskan cruise/Canadian vacation last summer (late July - early August). She said that it was BEAUTIFUL but never warm enough to swim or anything like that.
