Love Celebration!

The past couple of weeks had been rather stressful around our house. So, with our 10 month celebration last week, I decided to do something a little special for my husband. So when he walked through the door after work, I ushered him off to relax with our electric foot massage and heated neck pillow. I'd been cooking the evening away getting everything ready. Our dining table was decked out with photos and memorabilia from our wedding and engagement...and of course a little candle light to set the mood...

Just a little something extra to make our night romantic and a nice change of pace from ordinary. It is so easy to get caught up making the quickest meals and eat in front of our TV. So it meant a lot to me for a sit down dinner!

The infamous Penne Pesto. I could eat this every day.

Homemade Bruchetta...enjoy the recipe!
  • 2 tomatoes, diced
  • 1 tsp. balsamic vinegar
  • 1 -2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • pinch of Italian herb seasoning
  • pinch of basil seasoning
  • Sea Salt (to taste)
  • Whole Wheat Bread, cut into small squares (be sure to cut off the crust)
  • Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
Combine the first six ingredients, then chill. Bake bread squares at 350 for 3-5 minutes or until toasted. Top each square with tomato mixture and top with shredded mozzarella cheese. Bake another 3-5 minutes or until cheese has melted.

We topped off the evening with Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Murder She Wrote (yeah we love it...).

We did fancy dinner and wine night on Tuesdays for quite a while. Since we started this house hunting process...it's been harder to do these days.

We hope to start it back up soon!

Nice job Heather, looks lovely! Good idea too....so many of our meals are spent on the run or in front of the TV, I really should make it a point to have a nice sit down dinner at least once a week.

Hey!! I MUST have that happily ever after frame!! Where did you find it at??? I LOVE the one next to it, too!!!!

You know.. I live a few hours from Paris.. 30 minutes from the French boarder.. and I've only been to Le Bitche, France.... How was Paris? I've been told it was dirty and not so romantic.. I STILL want to go!!!! I have until Nov 2011 to make it there! Let me know if you plan another Europe getaway!!!

Parts of Paris were definitely dirty, but not any more so than most major cities that I have been too. We stayed in the Eiffel Tower and Triumph De Arc area for a majority of the time, which is one of the nicest areas...think Louis V. stores and coffee shops with guards standing at the door...I would def recommend going!!! :)
